The Coolest Experiences of Vancouver

April 05, 2016

If your family has just moved to Vancouver, or will be moving to our beautiful city soon, you are probably wondering what attractions you visit while getting to know your new home. There are an incredible array of nightclubs, galleries and restaurants to explore, but some of our very favorite locations are outdoors!

Grouse Mountain

Located just 15 minutes from Downtown Vancouver, Grouse Mountain is home to some incredible views, as well as exciting summer and winter activities! Take your children to visit the wildlife refuge, soar down the mountain zip lines, hike to the best vantage points or enjoy winter skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing.

Grouse Mountain has activities that families of all ages will enjoy and a variety of different ticket options so you can get the most of your afternoon experience.

Stanley Park

Vancouver’s largest urban park, Stanley Park is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic lunch and learn more about the city’s history. With art exhibits, monuments, sculptures and unique landmarks like The Stanley Park Hollow Tree, there are endless opportunities to learn and explore in this seaside park.

Looking for a place for Fido to run and splash? Stanley Park even has off-leash areas for your furry companion to enjoy.

Capilano Suspension Bridge

Experience the Capilano River from high in the sky on the Capilano Suspension Bridge and the other incredible treetop footbridges you and your family can traverse just 20 minutes outside of Downtown Vancouver. This outdoor experience will provide you with hours of entertainment and exercise, even including a Kids’ Rainforest Explorers Program for the youngest members of your group.

VanDusen Botanical Garden

Located just east of Downtown Vancouver, VanDusen Botanical Garden is in bloom all year round. Meander through the 55 acres of gardens, enjoying the fresh air, wildlife and ever-changing art exhibits.

Test your wit trying to make your way through The Elizabethan Maze, relax beneath the colorful Korean Pavilion and enjoy the breathtaking view offered from Stone Garden, the second-highest point in Vancouver.

These outdoor activities are just a few of the many adventures that Vancouver has to offer its residents and guests, making it an exciting and enjoyable place to live.
